Hi, I’m Michelle Smock
business coach, trainer, podcaster, & community advocate
I believe meaningful work should feel energizing, connected, and rooted in service — not isolated or overwhelming.
Everything I do is shaped by a simple question:
How can this make life better for the people involved?
These values aren’t just words to me —
they guide where I show up and how I serve.
Joy
Finding energy in connection, clarity, and problem-solving.
Small Business Development Center of Kentucky (SBDC)
As a Trainer and Business Coach, I work with entrepreneurs across Kentucky to help them connect ideas, untangle challenges, and move forward with confidence. There’s real joy in helping someone see a path where everything felt stuck — and in reminding business owners they don’t have to figure it all out alone.
Adventure
Growth happens when we’re willing to step outside our comfort zone.
Rotary of Lexington — Dancing with the Lexington Stars
Saying yes to Dancing with the Lexington Stars is equal parts service and stretch. It’s about showing up bravely, trying something new, and supporting our community — even when it feels uncomfortable (or involves choreography).
This experience reflects my belief that leadership requires courage, creativity, and a willingness to be seen and vulnerable.
Contribution
Building up women and girls creates ripple effects that last for generations.
You Are Co.
I support organizations that invest in women’s leadership, sustainability, and long-term impact. Serving in governance roles allows me to contribute strategically and help strengthen missions that matter.
Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road — Philanthropy Committee
Through my work with Girl Scouts, I support initiatives that teach generosity, leadership, and service early — helping young girls grow into confident, capable women.
Community
Lasting success is built through relationships.
Small Business Bestie Podcast
The podcast exists to create space for honest conversations, shared experiences, and real connection among business owners. The format may evolve, but the mission remains the same: to remind entrepreneurs they don’t have to do this alone.
Women Who Thrive
I actively support women-centered communities that foster collaboration, encouragement, and long-term relationships — because thriving happens together. The Women Who Thrive collaboration is showing up for women in central Kentucky to do just that.
